چکیده
In this study, a thermal–hydraulic–mechanical–chemical (THMC) multi-field coupling triaxial cell was used to study systematically the evolution of gas permeability and deformation characteristics sandstone. The effects confining, axial pressure on were fully considered in test. sandstone decreases with increasing confining pressure. When is low, variation greater than that at high injection significantly affects As increases, tends decrease. At same pressure, sample during unloading path less loading path. applied, it has significant influence 30 MPa, influences pressures as increases. Finally, micro-pore/fracture structure after test observed using 3D X-ray CT imaging.

Geometrical and transport properties of Bentheimer sandstone under deformation
In petroleum industry, during production, the vertical effective stress in the reservoir increases as the pore pressure decreases from few hundreds to few tens bar; in average the horizontal effective stress increases as well, but at a lower rate along an oedometric path, favoring shear stress and reservoir depletion; a complex geology induces locally a variety of stress paths between the two e...
متن کاملAnisotropy of sandstone permeability
Small-scale probe permeability measurements on differently oriented faces of highly compacted and quartz-cemented Viking Formation sandstones yield detailed permeability distributions that appear to be diagnostic of the grainand lamina-scale fabric of the samples. Permeability anisotropy of a single structureless'-appearing sample is low, reflected by a kV / kH-ratio of 0.7; corresponding k-di...

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

This paper describes the localization of deformation acceleration in the period prior to dynamic failure in hornblende schist rock under triaxial compression using acoustic emission (AE) monitoring. Rather than stabilize the failure process by controlling axial stress to maintain a constant rate of AE (for monitoring AE hypocenters) as in previous works [e.g., Lockner et al., 1991], we have ins...
متن کاملStrength and Deformation Characteristics of Granular Materials under Extremely Low to High Confining Pressures in Triaxial Compression
— The shearing strength and volumetric relationship of granular materials change notably with a variation of confining pressure. In this study the effect confining pressure on the mechanical behavior of granular materials were observed using discrete element method (DEM). The triaxial tests were conducted on seven specimens covering a range from extremely low to high confining pressures. Each i...
